homeless rick from chicago sitting on the sidewalk near the civic center by the warmth of a steam grate.

rick said he was recently assaulted by a "black guy" who beat him over the head with a cane; "i guess he didn't like white guys". in addition to his black eye and raw facial cuts, rick showed me large welts under his hair on the side of his head.

Hi I just came across this photo while browsing through some pictures on flickr for an illustration I am currently working on. One image I am using as reference is one I took back in 2006 when I visited SF for the first time. The man in my photo www.flickr.com/photos/12269570@N07/4116952418/ looks a lot like the man in your photo. I am pretty sure its the same guy!
